Ken has more than 12 years in teaching psychology subjects and counselling and served as a part-time tutor and script marker (psychology subjects) at Wawasan Open University and Intern Correctional Counsellor in Penjara Alor Setar in 2012.
His experience includes sales & marketing, customers services, individual/group counselling, psychology and counselling workshop/talk (motivation, communication, personality, and sexual education), and art therapy for teens and adults (sand play therapy & colour communication).
He graduated from Master of Social Science (Psychology) in USM, year 2019, with his research titled “Satisfaction & Commitment in Dating Relationship Among College Students in Pulau Pinang”. In year 2012, he graduated from UUM in Bachelor of Counselling (Hons) with mini research – “Keganasan Seksual Dalam Kalangan Banduan: Satu Kajian Kes” and achieved his license as a counsellor after his graduation.
Today, he started BYFU Consultation as a trainer and counsellor, and also Part-time Student Counsellor in PSDC, while continues his passion as a licensed counsellor in providing talk, workshop, and training in counselling and psychology topics.
Shirley Cheah has over 15 years of experience in teaching psychology and counselling. Since 2015, she has been a lecturer and counsellor at Wawasan Open University and has previously served as a part-time tutor and lecturer at institutions such as Open University Malaysia, KDU and Disted College.
Her expertise spans individual and group counselling, as well as conducting workshops and talks on psychological and counselling topics like stress management, personality development, and interpersonal skills. Additionally, she is proficient in designing courses in areas such as social psychology and child development.
Shirley holds a Master of Education from Universiti Sains Malaysia, where she focused on counselling and guidance. She also earned her Bachelor of Psychology (Counselling Psychology) from Universiti Malaysia Sabah. Throughout her career, she has been actively involved in research, contributing to topics such as psychological well-being and Open and Distance Learning (ODL).
As a certified PSMB TTT trainer, Shirley remains dedicated to sharing her knowledge through talks, workshops, and training sessions on counselling and psychology. She is also a committee member of the Penang Women's Development Corporation, contributing to community projects supporting women’s empowerment and mental health awareness.
Currently, Shirley is part of BYFU Consultation as a trainer and counsellor, while continuing her role as an adjunct course lead and lecturer at Wawasan Open University. She remains passionate about providing workshops, talks, and training on a wide array of counselling and psychology topics.
